Winter Decor

I love winter decor!  It helps me over the after Christmas slump.  Plus as an added bonus, a lot of it I put up after Thanksgiving and keep up until February when Valentines day decor comes out.  I specifically like snowmen and snowflakes which are usually colorful [Read not just red and green!] or light blue that gives them a wintry feel.  Here are a few of my ideas….

Snowman tree – In my classroom I have a white Christmas tree.  In December it has simple red and green ornaments.  However, in January I transform the tree into a snowman so I can leave him up until February.

Lanterns – Can lanterns be a theme???  If they are a style of decor that’s definitely mine.  I have a risky relationship with Pier One.  Here are a few of my faves.  They are addictive.  You’ve been warned!

Snowmen – Everywhere!  From the laundry room, to the guest bath there is a snowman, ok several in just about every room in my house. Some I make, some I buy,  I always hit up the after Christmas sales at Target.  Hobby Lobby usually has good sales starting in July.  Those places are great except neither of them have any right now, but they are easy to make.  Check out my post coming soon on this guy!

Fireplace Mantle – I like to change my mantel to a fun wintry scene.  This is my mantle.

How about you? What are you’re special winter decorations? I’d love to see your photos!
