I FINALLY got my Easter mantle finished!!! Phew what a relief! I didn’t take any pictures last year but I knew it was different from the year before, so I just kind of started fresh. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do. A trip to Hobby Lobby only made it worse. Shabby chic, earthy and green, pretty pastels??? There are just so many facets to my eclectic gypsy soul. Worth noting, I am not an actual gypsy, no offense, but I do like things done big, and poufy, and sparkly. Hopefully with a little class. Anyway, in the end the pastels with some sparkle won me over. I love multicolored pastels and found a sign with all five colors matching my mason jars. I thought I was getting it to fill a void by the lantern but it took on a life of its own. It’s late so I’m just gonna write a quick post to have SOMETHING Easter in my site. It’s three weeks away and I’m way behind schedule. So without further ado, I give you the fourth installment in my mantle series….Easter
The pictures are not that great but I’m not going to complain because it’s storming here and I am extremely lucky we even have power and internet. I’ll. Take some new ones in the morning light. So just a quick run down from left to right.
Lantern – This is my Pier 1 fave. Just as a side note, they are not paying me to say that I just really love lanterns and well most of their stuff in general. I put just some cheapo rabbit I’ve had for eternity in there with some moss and speckled eggs that I got at Walmart. It’s funny how you can put almost anything ina lantern and make it look special.
Crystal egg – cherished gift from my mother-in-law that I’ve had for a long time. She has one too but I have no idea where she found them.
Mason Jars – I painted these a couple years ago. Hopefully I will get a tutorial for them written in the future. For now, this is the tutorial I used to learn to make them with one major exception…I always use spray paint. Leaves no paint lines. Period. Filled them with simple hydrangeas.
Birds – Hobby Lobby
Nests – Modified from a couple Pier 1 candle holders. The pillar candle holder also came from there but much to my dismay they do not have it anymore. I wanted both sizes. Maybe in the future there will be one similar.
We Believe in the Easter Bunny – Aforementioned sign that completely changed my whole design😉.
Egg Light – Walmart last year but they have them again this year too.
Large Apothecary and Eggs – Hobby Lobby
I’m sure this has a multitude of spelling mistakes but having worked today at my actual money paying job, I’ve been up for nearly 24 hours and this iPad is intent on making me commit some kind of electric genocide. I’m calling it quits. Peace Out ✌️
